All Change!

Things are changing here at hilomilo! After three wonderful years in the little shop on the river, we’re finally ready to make a big change to the business!

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work on many, many special commissions. I have enjoyed remodelling much loved jewellery, bringing broken treasures back to life and making unique engagement and wedding rings for some very special couples.

But now is the time for change...I’ll no longer be taking commissions or repair work....this will be a time for me to really focus on producing some exciting new designs and jewellery collections ......so on the 19th July we’re closing the shop and moving into a much larger private premises where we can expand!

This fundamental shift in the business is something that I’m so excited about. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for some time so that I can to realign with the original goals that I had when I first founded hilomilo.

Hilomilo jewellery will of course still be available to buy as usual on the website www.hilomilo.com/shop and you can always keep up to date with developments by subscribing below or sneaking a peek at our Instagram www.instagram.com/hilomilojewellery and/or Facebook www.facebook.com/hilomilojewellery too.

We’ll be spreading the word about hilomilo further afield through various shows around the country which will be a lovely opportunity to travel around Britain, visit some great venues and meet lots of new people.

Our first show is booked already! So we’ll be exhibiting with the Rare Brands Market in Chichester in November! More dates to come!

That’s not all!

We are looking forward to sharing skills with anyone who would like to learn silversmithing and jewellery making and enjoy the pleasure that can be found in designing something and then creating it by hand.

So...........

Have you ever thought about making silver jewellery?

Fancy attending a short course to teach you some basic jewellery skills where you can make some rings, a bangle or develop some designs of your own?

Would you like to expand on some existing jewellery making skills?

Here are just some of the courses that we’re thinking about running:

• Learn to make a bangle or a set of stacking rings

• Make your own wedding rings

• Make a silver Christmas decoration

• Make a Valentine’s Day gift

• How to raise a bowl from a flat sheet of metal

• Wax carving and an introduction to lost wax casting

• Make a stone set ring or necklace

• Experiment with texture

In the meantime we will be running some pop-up workshops in a lovely venue in Sleaford in the near future to test the water so please do let us know if you’d like to take part or if there are any skills or techniques in particular that you would like to learn. Maybe you would prefer half day courses, one day courses or a shorter course that would run over a longer period.

Let us know by leaving a comment if this is something that you would enjoy and would like to get involved in, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s to the next step! x
